Turn on two-factor authentication

A second step at sign-in — a code from an authenticator app on your phone — means a stolen password alone cannot open your account.

Steps

  1. Open the account menu and choose Two-factor authentication, then press Set up two-factor authentication.
  2. Scan this code with your authenticator app, then enter the 6-digit code it shows. Can't scan it? Enter this key in your authenticator app instead.
  3. When the screen says Two-factor authentication is on, press Copy recovery codes and keep the codes somewhere safe. Each works once, and they are the way in if you lose the phone.

To switch it off, press Disable two-factor authentication and confirm with your password.
