SISC Suite help centre›Business Suite

Every screen and control named on this page is checked against the product at build time. If a name here does not match your screen, your workspace is on an older release.

Add the goods and services you sell and buy

Items is the product catalogue, with goods and services kept apart. It is the same catalogue the rest of the suite uses, so a product added here can be picked on any document.

You need

  • bizsuite.items.create
  • bizsuite.items.update

Steps

  1. Open Items and press Add item. First say whether it is a good you hold stock of or a service you do not — the rest of the form depends on that answer.
  2. For goods, turn on Track by lot for food and anything with a batch number: every movement of it will then have to name a lot. A service is never asked for a lot or a shelf life.
  3. Choose its category from the tree and, if you know them, its selling price and the cost you expect to pay. Both are optional; a product with no price shows No price set rather than a zero.
  4. Open a product to change its selling price or cost, or to add pictures. A price changed here is brought into the next quotation or order, and never changes a document already raised.
  5. Filter the list to goods or to services. The stock column is the total across every place; a service shows nothing there, which is not the same as zero.

A product can also be created in the middle of writing a quotation or an order, and the price you type there is saved onto it.
