Bill a customer on a recurring charge
Recurring is recurring billing for your own customers — a monthly retainer, a quarterly service fee, an annual support contract. There is no scheduler behind it: a person raises each period.
You need
bizsuite.subscriptions.createbizsuite.subscriptions.update
Steps
- Open Recurring and press New recurring charge. Choose the customer, add what is charged each period — as many lines as the arrangement has — and choose how often, the start date and, if there is one, the end date.
- It is saved as a draft, which can still be edited. Press Start charging once it is agreed; from then on its price is kept for every period, even if your list prices change.
- The list shows each arrangement’s next charge and its date, worked out by the server from what has already been raised. A banner names what is due today.
- Open one that is due and press Raise this period. That period’s sales order is created, and the next charge moves on to the following period.
- Use Pause and Resume for a break, and End when the arrangement stops.
A running arrangement cannot be edited, because a new price would restate every document it has already produced. To change the price, end it and set up the next one.
