Record that you prepared a return
A return carries two names before it goes anywhere: the person who prepared it and the person who reviewed it. This is the first of the two, and you can only ever record your own.
You need
taxoffice.filings.update
Steps
- Open Filings and choose the client.
- Find the row and press I prepared it.
- There is nothing to fill in. The button records the account you are signed in with, and it does not ask who — one person cannot record a colleague as having done the work.
- The Prepared column changes from Not yet to Recorded, and the return is now waiting for a reviewer.
- If you do not hold the permission the buttons are not drawn at all, and the column reads View only.
A return that has already gone to an authority takes no further stamp. And while a subscription is past due nothing is recorded anywhere in the app: Your subscription is past due. Deadlines and figures stay visible; nothing can be recorded until it is settled.
