How permissions work
Every screen and every action is behind a named permission. A permission is granted to a group, never to a person directly, and you can only grant what you hold yourself.
You need
platform.roles.update
Steps
- Open Permissions and pick a Group.
- Permissions are listed by app. The screens list on each app’s help page shows which permission opens each screen.
- Some are marked Protected — the workspace’s own administration, under Workspace administration. You cannot grant a permission you do not hold yourself.
When a screen refuses with “You need the … permission to do that”, that is the permission to ask an administrator for.
