Connect WhatsApp with Meta’s own window
Connect your WhatsApp Business number to SISC without copying any ids or tokens. Meta’s own window does the work, and you can use either a new number or the number of the WhatsApp Business app you already use.
Steps
- Open WhatsApp, go to Numbers and press Connect WhatsApp. Only the owner, an administrator or someone given the WhatsApp connect permission sees the button. If it says quick connect is not set up on this server yet, use “Advanced — enter details yourself” instead.
- Meta’s window opens. Log in to Facebook, then choose your business or create one, and choose or create the WhatsApp Business account.
- A new number: enter it and choose how Meta should send the code, by SMS or by a voice call. Type the code into Meta’s window.
- Your WhatsApp Business app number: choose to connect your existing WhatsApp Business app and enter its number. WhatsApp shows a verification code. On your phone, a message from the official Facebook Business account arrives in the WhatsApp Business app: tap Connect, then Connect to the Business Platform, then Confirm, where you also choose whether to share your chat history. Go back to the browser and enter the code. Follow exactly what Meta’s window shows, as Meta may change these screens.
- Finish the last screens in Meta’s window. SISC shows “Connecting your number…” and then “Connected”. The number is checked with Meta, its token is stored encrypted and never shown, and customers’ messages start arriving in the inbox.
- If something stops the connection, SISC says why: the window was closed, a permission was not allowed, the number is still connected to another provider, or Meta refused it — with Meta’s trace id to give their support.
- Until a number is connected and switched on, nothing about WhatsApp is offered anywhere: no Send by WhatsApp button on invoices, quotations or receipts, no WhatsApp reminders, and the assistant does not suggest it. To disconnect a number Meta connected, press Disconnect: SISC also asks Meta to stop sending that account’s messages to SISC. If Meta refuses, the number is still disconnected here and SISC names Meta’s error, so you can remove the app yourself in Meta Business Suite under Settings, Integrations, Connected apps.
With the WhatsApp Business app you keep using the app on your phone. Connecting unlinks the devices linked to the app; you can link supported ones again afterwards under Linked devices, and you disconnect the app from the business platform in the app under Settings, Account, Business Platform. Connecting through Meta is recorded in the audit trail.
