Take a payment in cash, by card, or split between both

The till does not ask for one payment. Add tenders until nothing is left to pay, and it works the change out for you.

You need

  • pos.sales.create

Steps

  1. On Terminal, use Scan or search to scan a barcode or find the item by name. Subtotal, Tax and Total add up as you go.
  2. Press Charge. The payment panel opens on the Total due.
  3. Choose Pay by — Cash, Card or another — enter the Amount or press Exact, then press Add.
  4. Repeat for as many tenders as the customer hands over. Remaining counts down; when cash is more than remains, Change due shows what to hand back.
  5. Press Complete sale. The till refuses a sale the tenders do not cover, and says by how much it is short.

Cash can be taken in another Currency where your company has put a rate on file; only cash, and the change is always given in the register’s own currency. Every sentence the till can refuse a payment with is on Messages POS can show.
