What is Contacts?

Contacts — Your own address book, private by default. Keep your own contacts — name, email, address, notes and attachments — private to you, and share one with your organisation when the whole company should see it. On the App page it is listed under “Extra apps”. 3 of its screens are available today.

What screens does Contacts have?

Contacts ships these screens today:

  • Address book: Contacts · New contact
  • Organisation: Shared with the organisation

Being listed here means the screen opens today. On its own it does not mean every action on it is available — ask about the specific task, and where something is not built the answer says so rather than guessing.

Each screen opens for anyone who holds the permission in the last column. Being listed means the screen opens today; ask about the specific task if you need to know whether every action on it is available.

Messages Contacts can show

Each message is quoted exactly as the product shows it. Most say what to do in the message itself; where one names a setting, the place to change it is the app’s own settings screen or Company settings.

That contact is not in your contacts.
contacts.error.contactNotFound
A contact needs a name. One name is enough.
contacts.error.nameRequired
A contact is either private to you or shared with your organisation.
contacts.error.unknownVisibility
You can attach a photo or a PDF. {contentType} cannot be attached.
contacts.error.attachmentUnsupportedType
That file is empty, so there is nothing to attach.
contacts.error.attachmentEmpty
That file is larger than {maxBytes} bytes.
contacts.error.attachmentTooLarge
A contact can carry {limit} attachments. Remove one before adding another.
contacts.error.attachmentLimitReached
This link is invalid, expired, or the file is no longer available to you.
contacts.error.attachmentUnavailable
Attachments cannot be stored until file encryption is configured on this server.
contacts.error.storageUnavailable
