Give people their payslips
A payslip is not made; it appears. Approving a pay run produces one per person per period, and there are two ways to read it: an officer reads everybody’s, and a person reads their own on a screen that names nobody else.
You need
hr.payslips.readhr.payroll.salaries
Steps
- Open Payslips. If it is empty, no run has been signed off yet:
Payslips appear here once a pay run is approved.
- Each row is one person for one period, with Gross and Net and the run’s own Status. Click a row to read the slip line by line.
- If the screen shows a notice instead of the list, this is the rule rather than a fault:
You need the “Payroll: View salary amounts” permission to see this. It is granted by name — no general read role includes it. Ask whoever administers your account.
- A person reads their own under My payslips, and that screen asks no permission at all — the reader is the subject. What it does need is their sign-in account linked to their employee record.
- To link one: open Employees, click their row and find Sign-in account on Summary. Press Link account, find the account under Search people by name, and choose it.
The account linked here can see this employee’s own payslips under My payslips. Linking and unlinking are recorded in the audit log.
- Until that is done the person sees an explanation rather than an empty list:
Payslips are shown for the employee record linked to your sign-in account, and none is linked to yours yet. Ask an HR administrator to link it from your employee record.
- Change account moves the link to another account and Unlink removes it. An account already spoken for is refused by name:
That account is already linked to another employee record.
Somebody on the wrong screen is told which one is theirs: Looking for your own payslip? Open My payslips.
