See who is in today, and fix a missed punch
Attendance is not typed in at the end of the month. It is derived from punches, one day at a time, and this screen is where a manager reads that day and corrects it when somebody forgot.
You need
hr.attendance.readhr.attendance.update
Steps
- Open Attendance. It opens on Today, one row per active employee for whatever is in the Day box — which starts on today, in your own browser.
- The tiles across the top count Clocked in, On break, Clocked out, Not in, Late, Exceptions and On leave. Each row then shows Clocked in, Clocked out and Worked.
- Click a row to open that person’s punches for the day. Every punch shows its Time and its Source — Time clock, App or By hand.
- Somebody forgot to clock in: press Add punch, choose Clock in or Clock out, give Time of the punch and a Reason. The reason is required, and the punch is then marked By hand for ever.
- A punch at the wrong time is corrected, never edited: press Correct.
The original stays on record; a new entry supersedes it.
Use Void for one that should never have happened, and a punch already corrected refuses a second go:That punch has already been corrected. Correct the correction instead.
- Late and Over roster are measured against the shift rostered for that day, so they are blank where none is:
No shift is rostered on this day, so lateness and overtime are not measured.
- History is the same records over a longer range, with Date range to widen it. Export CSV writes that range to a file and needs a permission of its own — a board anybody may read is not a file of everybody’s hours.
Hours recorded here carry no money. Nothing on this screen is a rate, a wage or a cost; pay is worked out in the pay run, from the pay record on the person.
