Price lists: special prices for groups, customers and quantities

Prices for customer groups and named customers, quantity breaks, and promotions whose label prints on the invoice. One set of price lists serves Business Suite and Accounting, so a quotation, an order and an invoice price the same customer the same way.

  • bizsuite.pricelists.update

Steps

  1. Open Price Lists. On Customer groups, press New customer group for each kind of customer who pays the same, such as wholesalers, restaurants or hotels, and add the customers. A customer is in one group at a time: adding them here takes them out of any other.
  2. On Price lists, press New price list. Choose the currency, the dates it is valid and its Priority, and who it is For: customer groups, named customers, or both. Nobody yet. A list for nobody prices nobody.
  3. Add its prices: a Product, then A fixed price or A percentage off the product’s own price. For a quantity break, add the same product again with a higher From quantity and a lower price. This price applies from this quantity up. 0 means from the first unit.
  4. On Promotions, press New promotion for a time-limited offer on products or whole categories, for every customer or for chosen groups. Its Label printed on the document is printed on the quotation and the invoice beside each line it prices.
  5. When you write a quotation, an order or an invoice, each line is priced for that customer: a live promotion first, unless it would cost the customer more than their list; then their price list; then the product’s own price. A price you type yourself is kept.

Lower numbers are checked first. When a customer is on two lists, the one with the lower number decides — never simply the cheaper one. Between promotions the better price wins, and discounts never stack. Changing or deleting a list never changes documents already written.
