Ask for something to be bought, get it approved and ordered
Requisitions is where anyone in the company asks to buy something. The request is approved under the company’s own purchase approval limits — the same ones purchase orders use — and a buyer turns approved requests into purchase orders.

Steps
- Open Requisitions and press New requisition. Pick each item from the products, with its picture, or describe it in your own words, and give a quantity and an estimated price. Say when it is needed and why; a preferred supplier, a cost centre or a project can be added too.
- Press Save and submit. Every request needs at least one approval. Below the company’s lowest approval limit, or when the company has set no limits, anyone who holds the approve permission can approve it; if nobody but you holds it, the request waits and the company owner is told. Above a limit, the people the limits name are told and it waits on their To approve list. You can withdraw it while it waits.
- An approver opens it and presses Approve, or Reject with a reason. Nobody approves their own request, and above a higher limit every level must sign. You are told either way; a rejected request can be changed and submitted again.
- A buyer opens Approved, to order, ticks the requests and presses Convert to purchase order. Lines for the same supplier become one draft purchase order, whichever request they came from, and each line keeps its link back.
- Check the prices on each draft in Purchase Orders and send it. An order within what was approved is not approved a second time; if it costs more, its own approval applies.
A request shows its purchase orders and moves to partly ordered or ordered by itself. An approved request nobody has ordered after a few days becomes a follow-up for the buyers.
