Write a proposal around a quotation
A quotation can carry a written proposal: the pages printed around it, such as a cover, text, tables, products, services, totals, terms and acceptance.
Steps
- On a quotation, press Proposal and add sections: a cover page, text, a table, what is included or excluded, a diagram or picture (PNG or JPEG), product cards, a services table, a bill of quantities, totals, terms and conditions, acceptance and signature. Move them up or down.
- In a text section, start a line with # for a heading or - for a bullet, and leave a blank line between paragraphs.
- Prices, quantities and totals are always read from the quotation’s lines when the PDF is drawn, so the proposal never holds a price of its own. Download the proposal PDF to see it.
- To reuse a layout, save it as a template and fill another proposal from it. A template saves the sections and the words, never the customer, the lines or the prices.
Once the quotation has been sent, its proposal can no longer be changed, but it can still be downloaded. With no sections written, the proposal prints a cover, the products, the services, the bill of quantities, the totals and an acceptance block. Managing templates needs the permission Quote templates: Manage.
