Remind customers before each repeating charge

A repeating charge on Recurring can remind the customer before each next charge, so a yearly fee never arrives as a surprise. Reminders only: nothing here raises an invoice.

You need

  • bizsuite.subscriptions.update

Steps

  1. Open Recurring and open the arrangement. Its Renewal reminders card shows the next charge and the reminder dates.
  2. Keep Remind the customer before each charge ticked. Untick it to stop reminders for this customer only.
  3. A charge that repeats yearly or less often is reminded on each day of your company’s reminder list before the charge date. A charge that repeats monthly or quarterly gets one reminder, on the day it falls due.
  4. If that period has already been raised as a sales order and invoiced, the reminder links the invoice, with a Pay section while it is still open.
  5. A charge whose date has passed without being run gets one reminder that it is due now, and nothing more until the next date.

The days in the list are the company’s own; if you have Accounting, they are set on the Renewals tab of Recurring contracts. A fixed-term arrangement that ended with its invoice still open raises a follow-up for you; nothing is cancelled or withdrawn.
