Raise a customer invoice and issue it
An invoice is a document and a posting at once: issuing it takes a number, works out the tax and debits the customer, all in the same press.
You need
accounting.invoices.readaccounting.invoices.createaccounting.invoices.void
Steps
- Open Invoices and press New invoice.
- Pick the Customer — they have to exist first, on Customers — then set the Invoice date and the Due.
- Press Add line for each thing being billed: a Description, a Qty, a Unit price and its Tax. Subtotal, Tax and Total add themselves up.
- Press Issue invoice when the document is right, and read what it warns you first:
Issuing is final: the invoice takes the next number in the series, posts to the ledger, and can no longer be edited — only voided while nothing has been received against it. The tax is calculated from your country’s declared rates, not from this preview.
- The Status then moves on its own as money arrives — Open, Part paid, Paid — from the receipts recorded against it.
A mistake is undone with Void this invoice and a Reason, never by editing: Voiding posts an opposing entry in the ledger and keeps this number in the series. It is only possible while nothing has been received against the invoice.
