Approve your team’s requests
When someone who reports to you sends a request, it waits for you in My HR. You decide it there, on a phone or a computer, and the next person in line is told.
Steps
- Requests follow the reporting line, so each person needs their manager on file: HR sets Manager on the person’s record in Employees. Depending on the request type, it goes to the line manager, then the manager above, then HR.
- Open My HR and switch to Manager. The switch appears for people who have someone reporting to them, and for HR.
- Approvals lists everything waiting for you. Open a request to see who sent it, the dates or the amount, the steps already taken and its history.
- Add a Comment if you want to, then press Approve or Reject. The person is told. An approved request moves to the next step, and the last approval puts it into effect: leave is booked, overtime and advances go to payroll.
- My team today shows who in your team is In, Left, Not in or On leave.
- Going away? Under Hand over my approvals, choose a colleague and the dates, then press Hand over.
While you are away, a colleague decides your team’s requests in your name. Every decision says so.
Press End to stop it early. - Documents attached to a request are listed on it under Attached documents; press Open to read one. You can open them only through the request you decide, and each opening is recorded.
Nobody can approve their own request. HR staff with hr.requests.read also see All requests, every request in the company. With hr.requests.manage they have Request setup, where they choose which request types are offered, who approves each one, and the self-service switches.
