Set up the shapes you sell on a repeat
A plan is a commercial shape rather than a customer: how often it bills, and what it lists at. Who is on it is the contract’s business, so one plan can carry a hundred agreements.

Steps
- Open Recurring plans and press New plan. Give it a Code and a Name — the code is what you will pick it out by when you put a customer on it.
- Set Billing. Repeats bills again and again; One-off bills once — a setup, an implementation — and is asked for no period length at all.
- For a repeating shape, type Months per period:
1 is monthly, 12 is yearly, 36 is every three years.
You type the number rather than pick it from a list, because an agreement of three or five years is as ordinary here as a monthly one. - Leave List price alone until somebody has agreed one.
Leave blank until a price is agreed. A blank price is shown as "Price on application", never as zero.
- Pick the Tax rate this shape is sold under.
The rate itself is worked out and frozen on each invoice as it is raised, so a change next year cannot restate this year.
- When you stop selling a shape, open it and press Archive. No new contract can start on it after that, and the agreements already running on it are untouched.
Nothing on this screen bills anybody. A plan becomes money on Recurring contracts, where a person raises each period by hand — the product runs nothing overnight on your customers.
