See profit by cost centre and by branch

The profit and loss and the trial balance can be limited to one cost centre, and a branch’s profit can be followed week by week.

Steps

  1. In Reports, choose a cost centre for the profit and loss or the trial balance. Choose No cost centre to see the postings that carry none, or carry a centre that has since been deleted. The CSV exports take the same choice.
  2. A branch is a POS register. Give each till its cost centre on the Registers screen of POS. What that till takes, taxes, refunds and spends is stamped with it unless the line already has one; a till with none uses its POS branch’s.
  3. Under Cost Centres, a panel shows profit per branch per week, per month or per period. A range that is too long is refused.
  4. The slices add up to the whole: all the centres together with No cost centre equal the figures with no filter.
