Import a bank statement and match its lines
Bring the bank’s statement in, see what each line could be and why, and confirm. Nothing is posted until you do.
Steps
- On the Reconciliation screen, import the statement. An Excel file (.xlsx) is read with the same column layout as a CSV. For a PDF statement, use PDF statement: the AI reads it and shows you every line, nothing is added until you confirm, and lines it could not read are counted and left out. This needs the AI add-on.
- Auto-match shows each bank line with what it could be, and why: exact, when the document number is in the bank’s narrative; by party, when the party is named; to look at; a suggested account; or unexplained.
- Confirm a line at a time, or confirm all exact matches at once. For a line without a match, an account is suggested from what you chose before for the same words; the AI can suggest one too, and says so, so that you check it.
- Open the reconciliation report for the statement’s closing balance, deposits not yet on the statement, payments not yet presented, the adjusted bank balance, the balance in the books and the difference.
