Keep the catalogue the scanner reads

The catalogue behind the till. What you edit here is what the terminal resolves a barcode to, straight away.

You need

• pos.products.read
• pos.products.create
• pos.products.update

Steps

1. Open Products and press New product — or find an existing one with Search by SKU, barcode or name and press Edit product.
2. Fill in the Name, the SKU and the Barcode the scanner will see, and say what it is Sold by.
3. Set the Cost, the Price and the Tax rate, and file it under a Category from Categories.
4. Turn on Track stock for this product if this is something you watch stock on; it then appears on Inventory.
5. Clear Active to take it off the till without deleting it — Inactive products stay on past receipts where they belong.
