Every screen and control named on this page is checked against the product at build time. If a name here does not match your screen, your workspace is on an older release.

Sell at the terminal

The selling screen itself: scan, ring up, take payment. It is built for a keyboard and a barcode scanner rather than for a mouse.

You need

  • pos.sales.create

Steps

  1. Open Terminal. If it says No shift is open it will not sell anything until a shift is open — see Open a shift and count the float in.
  2. Scan or type to add lines; Total follows as you go. What the scanner resolves is whatever is on Products.
  3. To take the money, step through Take a payment in cash, by card, or split between both, which covers split tenders and change.
  4. To set a basket aside for a customer who has forgotten their wallet, use Park a sale and pick it up again.

A cash sale completes with no connection at all and syncs when the till is back: Keep selling when the connection drops.
